Anyone can receive pictures taken from polar orbiting weather satellites. It's easy, fun and once the equipment is acquired, FREE!

There are polar orbiting satellites ( NOAA ) that constantly orbit the earth from north to south or south to north and take live photos while they pass overhead. The satellites have radio transmitters onboard and transmit the photo down to earth.

Various applications include: Hiking, Sailing/Yachting, Expeditions, Science
 

In order to receive these images you need a receiving antenna, a special receiver and a computer.
