In 1983, I was introduced to Grand Master Seiyu Oyata a 10^th Degree Grand Master of Ryukyu Kempo Karate Kobudo Rengo Kai. After a period of time training with Oyata Sensei, he and I talked about me joining his association. He said I was a good man he would allow me to join.  Oyata Sensei asked me how many students did I have? I advise 35. He said ask students if I / we should join the association. I did so, to my surprise the majority did not want to join. Oyata Sensei understood and said maybe next year, no problem. Following year at a seminar Oyata Sensei asks how many students? I said 40, how many from last year Oyata Sensei asked. I said 13, hmm, maybe you join Association and students follow. I did, they did.  I tell you this story because since I started to train with Oyata Sensei I have learned how to become a melting pot, cultivating what was good and eliminating the rest. Building good character, good manners, unconditional respect for yourself and others.

Cross Training Martial Arts

·          I was very fortunate to meet, train with and befriend Professor Remy A. Presas Grand Master Founder Modern Arnis. Professor remembered every ones name, his presence levitated you. 

·          I was very fortunate to meet, train with and befriend Professor Wally Jay Grand Master Founder Small Circle Jujitsu Professor Jay showed us great respect for breath; he enjoys life, and helping people.  

·          Police Defensive Tactics, Baton, Academy / Scenario training & Certifications DSI, US Marshall / 6^th Dan Joel Kirch, ZDK - Grand Master Michael Campos.   What I learned from DSI was so adaptable to my martial arts background, I was able to offer practical effective techniques within guidelines of police policies, Dutchess County Law Enforcement Agencies have been very involved.  Awards and recognition from the agencies, priceless.   

·          Wyoming Derrello friend, fellow martial artist, introduced Da Liu Tai Chi Chuan was Jacque Swartzback senior, Jacque was Da Liu disciple NYC. Like Da Liu, I have trained different forms and styles. Currently under Derek Benedict NY. 

·          A spiritual advisor, mentor in close strategies,  Chi developer of strong will, Soke Dwight Childress, Founder Zen Ken Iichi / BSR.

·          Like the sword; from its birth in fire, constantly challenged to its strength of mind,  As time carves this man, I want some of the shred always Kyoshi Dennis Bootle.

·          Last only so you remember him Most In Memory of Grand Master founder Martial Arts for the Handicapable MAH Grand Master Ted Vollrath Semper Fi.
