Chef-Owner Graziano Tecchio

Born in Portogruaro, Italy in 1967, Graziano started cooking very early for his four sisters and one brother. His formal training began at the age of  13 when he began cooking in a restaurant in Venice. He came to America in 1987 and started work at Mary P's restaurant in Kingston, then worked in Florida and at Reginato's Ristorante in Lake Katrine. He opened the Downtown Cafe in 1998, with a stove, a refrigerator, two kinds of wine, and meat and fish dishes. In 2002, the Cafe expanded to a 100 seat restaurant. Graziano's goal for the Cafe is to provide an adventure in food, helping you to find a relationship between the food, the chef and the customer. His food ranges from the traditional to the unusual, using the freshest ingredients available.
