Welcome to the White Elephant Farm homepage.  We are located in the beautiful Hudson River Valley, 100 miles north of New York City and 50 miles South of the capitol, Albany.  We have been raising cattle and sheep for over ten years at this location maintaining the following goals:

• Healthy, low maintenance animals. While medication is sometimes necessary, we breed keeping natural disease resistance as a priority.  Easy keepers with good dispositions, no exceptions.
• Proper conformation and type. Animals that grow out properly without allot of extra attention. Mostly just good pasture, clean water and trace minerals. Grain sparingly in winter, just before and after lambing and calving.
• Prolific breeders. We want ewes to settle quickly, later twinning. Lambs born and raised unassisted, likewise with our calves.  Minimal human intereferance with an emphasis on letting nature take its course.
